What is Mural?

Mural is the simplest way to build portfolios of your best work.

Who is it for?

What GitHub is for engineers and Dribbble is for designers, Mural can be the same for folks who work in product/marketing/sales -- or want to (e.g. students).

It’s also particularly valuable for those who work independently (e.g. consultants, investors) or do a lot of public speaking.

How does it work?

Simply put, Mural is a portfolio of URLs. But, unlike things like about.me, these URLs aren’t other social identities. They’re your actual work products -- e.g. google docs/spreadsheets, slideshare decks, youtube/vimeo videos, blog posts, tweets, even thoughtful posts on Slack.

And it’s incredibly easy to use. You paste a link to such a URL work product and Mural will automatically pull a beautiful preview and rich meta data to post to your profile. If you’d like, you can add a bit of context (e.g. title), contributors (i.e. people who helped on the project) and hashtags (so you can easily filter it into different sub-murals). And privacy is in your control — you choose who to share which parts of your Mural with and we maintain any privacy settings on the URLs you share.

Why should I create a Mural?

As you update it over time your Mural becomes a rich tapestry of all the cool stuff you’ve worked on, created and learned.

And we think that could be awesome for a bunch different reasons:

  • a professional identity you’re proud of
  • easier to get freelance/consulting gigs
  • better, faster feedback from people you work with and/or respect

And we’re eating our own dogfood. We’re so confident about the ability of Murals to unlock opportunities for amazing talent, we launched our own recruiting service to prove it.
